There are a lot of new innovations in sustainable packaging. For instance, Rema 1000 Maskinrens own-brand dishwash detergent bottle is now being made from recycled fishing nets from Danish discount retail chain Rema 1000. Another new innovation came about when researchers from the University of Minnesota and Northwestern University improved the recycling process of polyurethane through the development of a twin-screw extrusion process that improves mixing and air removal in foams.

Molded fiber may not be new but it has always been a compostable and biodegradable material that can easily be recycled in most recycling streams.
