According to a survey by WestRock of more than 3,000 consumers, more than 64 percent of buyers will purchase a product off the shelf without any prior knowledge or research just because of the packaging. Additionally, one of the highest drivers for a consumer’s repeat business was the packaging.
This mentality goes beyond just the flashiness of an outer box, but consumers are also drawn to the social responsibility of the product’s parent company. When the packaging is sustainable, countless surveys point to a greater likelihood of purchase, and if the package has an interesting functionality, consumers are more likely to take notice.
