Craft Alley
Shipping beer using packing that goes the extra mile.

Craft beers are in high demand by consumers nationwide. This is ideal for a beer retailer like Craft Alley, especially since they specialize in direct shipping a wide selection of popular craft beer brands to consumers nationwide. To ensure customer satisfaction, it’s essential that their shipper safeguards a wide variety of can sizes during transit to the consumer.

Problem

A one size fits all packaging solution.

Craft Alley is a Denver-based beer retailer that wanted to be able to ship the best craft beers direct to their customers throughout the United States. They had all the popular beers ready to sell to their vast customer base. But they lacked one thing: A shipper to properly hold and protect the wide variety of beer can sizes available so that each delivery would arrive undamaged to the customer – all without using any plastic. This is where EnviroPAK turned a challenge into a positive packaging solution using sustainable molded fiber.

Solution

Yes, we “can”.

When Craft Alley tapped into our smart thinking, we engineered a craft beer shipper where 12, 16, 18, and 24 oz. cans could all ship together. It was an innovative solution. And it was based on EnviroPAK’s experience with Craft Alley 25 years ago where we designed a 12 bottle beer shipper to replace molded EPS (we still manufacture this AmeriStar award winning packaging today. And through innovative engineering we recently won another AmeriStar award for our RIO molded fiber fly line spooler). Just as essential was that this new beer shipper was sustainable. We achieved this by replacing packaging peanuts and plastic bubble wrap with a compostable and biodegradable molded fiber custom shipper that completely protected the product during shipping to the customer.
