Purolator’s oil filter display boxes were doing a lot of heavy sales lifting on the retail shelf. But the chipboard partitions were undoing all of it by damaging the product labels. It resulted in a brand look that was less than appealing. EnviroPAK had a custom solution to deliver superior consumer appeal — all with molded fiber trays.

Die-cut chipboard partitions
Going from imperfect to perfect.
Every Purolator display box contained six oil filters that were positioned against die-cut chipboard partitions. The problem? The flat surfaces pressed against the cylinder shaped product’s printed graphics. This caused scuffing and damage to the labels that negatively affected the consumer shelf appeal needed to drive sales. Add to this the fact that the partitions were not automation friendly during assembly. EnviroPAK solved all these problems with molded fiber.
Protecting the brand without leaving a mark.
The engineers at EnviroPAK designed a molded fiber tray that would drop easily into the bottom of Purolator’s display box. In addition, the custom tray securely held each filter in place during transit while protecting the color label graphics – all providing superior brand appeal at the point-of-purchase. This form-fitted molded fiber tray also resulted in a design that was ideal for Purolator’s automation assembly process. These positive outcomes were achieved using eco-friendly molded fiber packaging from EnviroPAK.
