Reduce costs and warehousing space.
The objective for EnviroPAK® was to engineer molded fiber packaging for an existing kitchen countertop knife sharpener. Sounds simple, but it was far from it. The complex challenges included that the new solution had to fit within an existing box footprint and designed in a way that would protect the product, but also reduce warehouse storage space. Plus, since this was for a premier outdoor retailer, the packaging material had to be sustainable to support their brand mission of conserving the great outdoors.

A clear cut positive outcome.
When the engineers at EnviroPAK® began developing a prototype design, the first obstacle to overcome was ensuring the packaging provided a snug, secure fit for the knife sharpener. This created a secure and protective hold on the product during shipping. Cost reductions were achieved since each unit nested on top of the other. Now more units could be placed on pallets for economical shipping. And the 100% biodegradable molded fiber packaging was sustainable, making it the ideal choice for enhancing the outdoor conservation efforts of this premier outdoor retailer.
